Lesson Planning for Success and Accountability Partners.
It is the tenth week of school already and no doubt you are busier than ever. This week you are invited to remember the value of the time you put into lesson planning. Take time to celebrate what you have been doing in focusing your lesson plans that has been helpful or particularly effective so far this school year. Reflect on what might be the next steps for your lesson planning work.
Working on lesson plans with a professional learning community of teachers who teach the same course (whether you use a district specific format or the format shared during Phase 2 workshops found here) can be very engaging. If you have a team or PLC at your school, enlist each other as accountability partners for this work and establish a weekly check-in time to review plans. If you do not have someone at your school to work with, perhaps you established an accountability partner during the Phase 2 workshop, or you can tap into a valued colleague from a different discipline. If you are in need of a partner, contact the teacher leader that led the Phase 2 workshop that you or your colleagues may have attended. If you have a partner, but you have not already set up a regular check-in time with them, do that this week. And remember to celebrate the good work you have already accomplished during the last nine weeks.
