The Episcopal School of Los Angeles: Upper School Math Position:
ESLA’s Mathematics Department is seeking a teacher with an unshakable commitment to student success; whose classroom is filled with joy and authentic connections. We use the CPM curriculum in grades 6-11. The ideal candidate has some or all of the following characteristics:
A strong background in mathematics,
Demonstrated success teaching mathematics to students in grades 9-12,
Strongly believes that all students can and should learn rich college-preparatory mathematics,
A passion and knowledge of working with a diverse student body, with a commitment to equity and inclusion,
Knowledge of effective differentiation techniques to support students from a range of socio-economic, cultural, and educational backgrounds, including learning differences,
Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience in public, charter, parochial or independent schools,
Interest in continuing professional development in mathematics education.
Interest in contributing to a school culture and community outside beyond teaching mathematics.
Likes working with students and colleagues in collaborative settings. Additional Assets (Preferred, not Essential):
Has an interest and experience developing and teaching Computer Science courses in grades 7-12
