I like to think of closure as the season finale of that series I have been binge-watching.
“What is the goal of your lesson?” This is one of the first, and most important, questions my coach, John Hayes asks as he sits down with me to plan a lesson.
What was I doing before? No, not before COVID—though I did start this article in March of 2020. What was I doing in the classroom?
Study Team and Teaching Strategies can support and serve several different purposes. These strategies support active learning–not only through movement and engagement, but also through promoting shared math authority. They are also vehicles to support collaborative learning.
Mr. H’s math department has just adopted CPM. He is three weeks into the first term when suddenly his students realize that they are putting much more effort into their math learning then they ever have in their learning career.
In our last article, we encouraged you to set a new year’s resolution. We also suggested a few ideas, such as improving STTS and assessment practices. How is it going?
