In March when schools suddenly closed due to COVID-19, I had a vision, perhaps a dream, of what distance learning would be.
As the end of the first term of the 2020-21 school year rapidly
approaches, many teachers are faced with several challenging
decisions regarding summative assessments.
In the 1980s, Just-in-time Manufacturing became popular in American companies. Just-in-time is a protocol companies use to get their product to customers right when they need it, instead of stockpiling goods in warehouses that may end up obsolete before they are ever sold.
Distance learning is not what I signed up for when I became a teacher.
When our school shifted to remote instruction last March, I wanted my middle school students to interact with each other as much as possible, despite being isolated in their homes.
Who would have thought that the school year would wrap up with remote learning because of a pandemic!?
