September 2023
The summer heat gives exhausted educators a good reason to relax by the pool, escape to the mountains, or enjoy some ice-cold beverages.
And while CPM employees follow your example in taking time to recharge over the summer months, CPM’s commitment to more math for more people does not take a vacation.
In California, CPM was one of only four curriculum companies that attended a legislation hearing about inclusive education with the California Department of Education. CPM publicly committed to creating inclusive textbooks. We are proud to stand in support of equity in classrooms.
In New Mexico, TODOS: Mathematics for ALL held its 2023 Conference in June, focusing on Critical Actions in Mathematics Education. CPM is honored to sponsor and support the mission-aligned work of this international organization as it advocates for equity and high-quality mathematics education for all students.
And all across the country, CPM educators joined CPM Professional Learning representatives in both in-person and virtual events. This created networks of teacher-learners dedicated to advancing student-centered mathematics at their schools. Notable “aha” moments were documented on Twitter using the hashtag #CPMsummer.
As the temperature steadily begins to drop (crossing collective fingers!) and the pressures of teaching inevitably rise, from inside the classroom and from without, remember that CPM support is one “send” away. Email support@cpm.org for technical assistance or contact your Regional Professional Learning Coordinator with any questions about professional learning or implementation.
Your work is powerful, essential, and universal. CPM is committed to seeing you make it to the end of a long career!
